Effective Spring Cleaning Tips
Effective Spring Cleaning TipsIf you are one of those people who run for the hills at the mention of spring cleaning, know that you are not the only one. It doesn’t matter whether you are a neat freak or a natural slob, the idea of embarking in spring cleaning is daunting for most people. The sheer amount of work that needs to be tackled in each room may make you want to skip the whole ordeal; but if you want to live in a dust, allergen, damp and odour free environment, you have to face spring home cleaning time. Below we have listed some tips on how to organize your work so that house cleaning goes easy for you.Cleaning tipsIn order to spend less time in cleaning, you must organize your work such that you don’t make yourself repeat chores. Here a few tips on how to clean fast and efficiently. 1.    Always begin cleaning from the top and then work your way down to the bottom. Normally, dust falls down so if work in that direction you won’t have to redo any surface. If you think about it, dusting your shelves and making your bed before you clean the floor makes more sense.2.    When you enter a room, pick a direction and clean along it, that is, go either clockwise or anti-clockwise when cleaning the room. This ensures that you don’t miss any area of the room.3.    Put all the domestic cleaning tools and products you will possibly need in a carry-on. This way you can carry it with you from room to room and you don’t have to run back and forth all the time to the cleaning closet to get stuff.4.    Some cleaning tasks such as cleaning blinds or speakers take a lot of time. Learn to be patient. Also if you are cleaning something for the first time, you will probably not produce excellent results right away. Take your time to get where you want.5.    If you are not sure how to clean an article or surface, research it before you begin cleaning. Give a call to the manufacture or the person who sold/installed the item. This will save you a lot of trouble and money in the long run.6.    When handling bigger tasks, such as cleaning the garage or organizing your bedroom, try to break it down into chunks of smaller jobs to make it more manageable.7.    Keep cleaning the sinks for the end because you will probably be using it while you are cleaning the other rooms.8.    Warm water cleans better than cold, unless it is harmful for your fabric or surface. 9.    Instead of using a variety of domestic cleaning products for each surface, try to substitute it with a pH neutral degreasing liquid such as dishwashing soap. This is not only cheap and effective, but also saves you the trouble of having to carry too many items around while cleaning.10.    Give yourself small breaks throughout spring cleaning day where you can sip some water and have a snack.11.    Some people find it easy to clean when they are not thinking actively about it. So give your mind some other task to do, such as listening to music, or planning how to spend the evening.12.    If you had let go of your house for a long time and now it is a mess that may be very difficult to clean, consider hiring a cleaning company to clean your house professionally for you. Once it is spic and span, you can work out a cleaning routine that will maintain the level of cleanliness.
